A popular type of fluorescent fabric is called a polyester-cotton interwoven fabric. This type of fabric is made from polyester filaments and combed cotton sand threads in a three or four-fold twill weave. Unlike cotton-based fabrics, which have a float-point on the back, polyester filaments are more arranged on the front side of this fabric. These fabrics meet the EN471 flame-retardant and waterproof standards.

The study used a Korean-made sample that was currently being used in public and private sector clothing. The samples were randomly selected for adult and children's clothing. These fabrics were then evaluated based on seven criteria outlined in ISO 20471. The results showed that the use of fluorescent materials increases the efficiency of warning clothing and is a useful option for the environment.
